Since the first hydraulic fracturing experiments in 1947,more than 1 million U.S. oil and gas wells
have been fracked.
Specialty chemical makers ramp up to help oil and gas operators be more productive and
environmentally responsible.
The boom in U.S. oil and gas production has brought huge economic opportunities for the country
and for the chemical industry. But it has also brought close scrutiny of the chemicals used in
processes such as hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking. Between the economic hype and
environmental backlash is the story of how chemicals are chosen and marketed for this industry.
"Part of what we offer today are rheology modifiers ,such as cellulose ones ,and products able
to withstand high temperatures," .....
....The fake stuff is usually a combination of formaldehyde, glyoxal, and other chemicals and
often comes from China.
